Richy & Kelsey's "ONE MORE TIME" Wedding

When Richy and Kelsey came into our lives seven months ago, we all agreed that we wanted our working relationship together to be based on a strong foundation of friendship; but I don’t think any of us really understood how strongly our bond would grow over these months of planning for their wedding.

Over cocktails, coffees, and delicious food choices, we have all cultivated a true trust and respect for each other that have resulted in amazing times together, whether it was “business” or relaxation related.

We had a blast during their downtown Tampa engagement session (refresh your memory here), which only whet our appetite in anticipation of their beautifully traditional catholic ceremony.  Held at St Leo Abbey in St Leo, Florida, Richy and Kelsey exchanged vows at this location that was a part of Richy’s old college stomping grounds.

We began the day by capturing the bride and groom’s preparations in the spacious accommodations of Saddlebrook Resort.  While the ladies were finishing hair and makeup, Richy was in for a very special treat as his groom’s gift was delivered to him personally by us.  It was a custom wooden box of prints that held some gorgeous fine art boudoir images of his bride, and his reaction was everything we all hoped for: “She’s so beautiful,” he said as he wiped away a few tears.

Usually bright and bubbly, Kelsey was a quieter version of her smiling self as the sanctity of the day settled on her.  Even as the anticipation built with the passing of time, however, Kelsey kept her cool.  Her contagious smile never faltered, even in the moments where emotional tears found their way into her eyes.  She dressed discretely and calmly in a room at the Abbey with only the help of her mother and sister.

When the finishing touches of shoes and veil had been added, Kelsey was ready to share a First Look with her father, whose breath was stolen as he beheld his daughter dressed in the same gown her mother had worn down the aisle so many years ago.

Kelsey and Richy’s ceremony was deep, spiritually rich, and moving.  The expressions on their faces as they partook in various parts of the ceremony evoked the reverence with which they were vowing to cherish one another before God for a lifetime.  Though they exchanged some excited smiles and whispered banter true to their lighthearted characters, their passion and love for one another could not be overlooked in these sacred moments.

After the ceremony we captured some beautiful family formals inside the Abbey, and then had some fun with their wedding party on the grounds before devoting our time to the newlyweds’ Just Married portraits.

When portraits were completed we rejoined the guests at the reception taking place back at Saddlebrook.  From here on out the night was full of SO much true bliss and merriment.  Richy and Kelsey danced the night away amongst their lively guests, sporting sunglasses and proper dancing kicks!  We stole them away for only a few minutes to capture some dramatic sunset portraits overlooking the resort’s golf course, but other than that it was straight party mode!

Our friends ended the night with the most epic exit that we’ve experienced to date:  This Just Married couple lived out their Sparkler Exit fantasy by running through the crowds not once, not twice, but THREE times over before finally mounting their getaway golf cart and riding off into the night!

Being a part of Richy and Kelsey’s day was such a gift; and being able to be a part of their future is a bonus gift!  We are so incredibly happy for these two, and we can’t wait to hear all about their amazing honeymoon cruise over too many tacos and some drinks!
