Sandra & Garrett’s SOHO Engagement Session

We were so excited when Sandra and Garrett chose the scenery of SoHo in Tampa, Florida where all the magic of their courtship happened as the backdrop for their engagement portraits.  We love nothing more than to give your portraits as much sentimental value to them as possible; and nothing screams “sentimental” louder than the stoop of their old apartment complex and a couple of stools at World of Beer!

We happened to choose one of the coldest days of Florida Winter to schedule their engagement session.  But when we asked the couple if the cold was too much, Sandra insisted that her hair was freshly styled and there was no going back now!  So, like real troopers, Sandra and Garrett allowed us to pose them all around their old neighborhood, braving the cold and looking toasty as can be as they laughed and cuddled.

Their session began at World of Beer, where we all warmed up beside the giant heater before shedding jackets to get camera-ready.  Garrett came up with the ingenious idea to have their wedding date engraved in the foam of his beer… I’ll give you all a minute here to marvel over the fact that this IS an option…!  And this cute and quirky detail made for such fun and personal images during the first half of their session.

Sandra and Garrett then led us back to the front steps of their old apartment, which was within walking distance of World of Beer, and thus played a big role as to why it was one of their favorite date spots!  They sat and snuggled on the stairs where all of their romance began and brought such a warm, homey feel to their portraits.

Last but not least, we got our couple strolling and having fun just being themselves.  An industrial brick feel blended with some pops of pink and greenery provided a great final backdrop for a mix of lighthearted yet intimate shots.

Garrett has a particular knack for being hilariously random, so we were lucky enough to capture some priceless blooper shots along the way.  Sandra and Garrett are a great couple, and their love for one another was palpable in all of their interactions, even when things got goofy!  We cannot wait for their wedding, which is going to test our patience as we count down the months until December!
