Engagement Session at "The Barn at Crescent Lake" With Chelsea & Chad

Chelsea and Chad reached out to us within days of their engagement, and their eagerness to say “I do!” by the end of this year spoke to all the “When you know you know” feels of their young love. When the topic of engagement session locations came up, they even had the answer to that question ready for us without hesitation!

The venue that they chose for their wedding, The Barn at Crescent Lake, graciously allowed us access to the grounds in order to spend some time capturing all the love and excitement of Recently Engaged portraits. We loved this idea, because we knew it would present us with an opportunity to have some extra fun in unexpected places that we may not have time for on their wedding day; plus, there will be a great cohesiveness between their engagement and upcoming wedding portraits. We considered this a win-win!

We were graced with an absolutely perfect late afternoon light as we explored the charmingly rustic sets that The Barn’s grounds had to offer. Lots of open field, old, sprawling trees, and a couple of abandoned cabins gave us plenty of variety as our couple strolled in their cowboy boots and enjoyed each other’s company.

For their second look Chad changed into his military uniform, which not only reflected their pride and commitment to our country in their portraits, but it also added that classic, chivalrous flare to compliment the actual sun flares towards the end of the evening!

Chelsea and Chad are the definition of “good people”. We had such a relaxing and beautiful afternoon with them, and we can’t wait to share in their special day this December.
