"It's Miller Time!" Elle & Jarelle's Davis Island Garden Club Wedding

Seeing as we had photographed the bride’s cousin’s wedding last year, Elle and Jarelle’s wedding day had strong family reunion vibes for us! LaChambra, who fulfilled the role of matron of honor rather than bride this year, greeted us with her bright, beautiful smile and a hug as soon as we arrived at our bride Elle’s hotel suite. From that moment on, we had a blast spending time with our bride as well as all the familiar faces of bridesmaids and other family members. Since they were all acquainted with our workflow by now, the ladies graciously pitched in to help us stage the spaces in front of the hotel windows, organize bridal details, and even toss in some fun group pose ideas!

Once our ladies were dressed and they had had their getting-ready fun in front of the cameras, we made our way to the wedding venue where the groom would be waiting to share a special First Touch with his luminous bride. Though the sun was high and hot, we carved out a shady green nook to capture Elle and Jarelle sharing an emotional yet joyous private moment before walking down the aisle.

Their tiny daughter Journee made for an adorable flower girl when it came time for their ceremony at the Davis Island Garden Club, and happy tears were shed as vows were exchanged and a unity candle was lit.

After family formals, there was time for eating and dancing to start while we waited for the hot June sun to drop in the sky. When the light was soft and golden we stole our couple away from the air-conditioned comfort of their beautifully decorated reception (complete with an actual THRONE at their sweetheart table!) to snag some evening Just Married portraits. Even though it was approaching sunset, the heat had not relented; so we kept things fun as always, but more importantly we kept things fast so that our bride and groom did not melt right in front of our eyes!

Their reception was full of plenty of dancing, which included some choreographed sorority sister moments, and beautifully emotional speeches. Elle and Jarelle’s day was a touching, deeply spiritual, and joyous celebration of their union as well as a solidification of the loving family they have already started together. We loved spending the day with them, and being reunited with so many fun, familiar faces was a definite bonus! We wish them continued growth and love under the guidance of God for many years to come.
