Sierra & Daniel's Wedding At Prairie Glenn Barn #nowtillforever
We’ve been waiting on Sierra and Daniel’s day for a minute, and all the anticipation did NOT disappoint! When you have a bride with a stylish eye and a dapper groom, you know to expect nothing short of fabulous on their wedding day! Sierra and Daniel slayed their engagement session months ago (revisit their session HERE), and it got us all so hyped for their big day that the countdown seemed to go on forever.
We started the morning with the bride and her ladies at a beautiful home of a friend where they all got ready peacefully and calmly while The Game played in the background (that’s football lingo, ya’ll, so just support me while I try to sound hip!). When Sierra’s makeup was finished and her gorgeous hair had all been styled in luscious curls down her back, she and I took a private moment away from the hustle and bustle of preparation to write a letter to her groom. Aside from their actual ceremony, this was my favorite moment of the day. There was such quiet and calmness, and Sierra was the bright beautiful light in a fabulously dark, dramatic study room as she penned loving words to her future husband.
When all the ladies were perfectly dolled up, we loaded up and headed to the venue, where the guys would be meeting us as well for their own getting ready moments. As we cruised down the winding drive leading into Prairie Glen Barn, we were absolutely blown away by this oasis of magnificent trees and greenery at every turn. The ladies reconvened in a lovely bridal suite where all of the finishing touches took place, including some incredibly emotional moments shared between Sierra, her grandmother, and her father who both raised her. The bridesmaids got their own First Look with their stunning friend, and they also got a sneak peek of Sierra’s special groom’s gift to Daniel!
The ceremony space was tucked between two rows of grand trees, and with lanterns, fresh florals, and large wooden benches completing the scene, it was truly a space from a fairytale. The atmosphere was one of peace and wonder, and our groom shed tears of joy as he beheld his bride for the first time and watched her drift down the aisle in her full skirted gown and cathedral veil. The weather held out throughout the ceremony, but it decided to rain on our parade right in the middle of family formals. We all ran for cover into the beautifully decorated barn-reception space, and we continued to do what we do best: work with the soggy cards we’d been dealt.
Thankfully, it wasn’t long before the storm passed, leaving some majestic and dramatic clouds in its wake. Our newly wed couple was so amazing, trusting us to make some magic happen despite the shrunken timeline and damp conditions. They smiled through it all, and we were able to capitalize on the phenomenal post-storm landscape we were left with!
After the sun had set, it was time to party under a multitude of market lights, fireside, and just about anywhere you could still hear the music bumping from the open-air reception area! Everyone danced, enjoyed s’mores by the bonfire, and took in the waterfront views beneath the night sky. The couple ended their celebration with a stroll beneath a sparkler arch.
Sierra and Daniel are amazing both separate and together….But obviously we prefer them together! We are so, so thankful that a past couple brought them into our lives, and sharing in their forever was a blessing. Congratulations to our stylish and awesome couple! We wish you many years of bonfires, spontaneous sprints in the rain, and fairytale moments side by side.
